An SEO checklist for automated blogs

The adjustments that make an automatically published blog rank like a hand-written one.

Publishing often is half the job. The other half is making sure every post is technically healthy from day one. This is the checklist we use.

Before publishing

  • One search intent per post. Two topics in one article compete with each other.
  • Keyword near the start of the title. Keep it under 60 characters.
  • A meta description written for the click, not for the crawler — 140 to 160 characters.
  • Short, stable URLs. Avoid dates; updated posts stay relevant.
  • A single H1, with H2 and H3 in the right order.

Inside the article

  • Answer the main question within the first two paragraphs.
  • Use lists and tables — those are the snippets Google likes to feature.
  • Link internally to at least two other posts.
  • Give every image a descriptive alt.

After publishing

  • Check indexing in Search Console.
  • Refresh old posts with new data instead of publishing near-duplicates.
  • Track average position per keyword, not just pageviews.

The most common mistake

Publishing dozens of articles about the same term. That’s cannibalization: your own pages compete and none of them climb. One strong, frequently updated post beats five weak ones.

With a well-configured schedule this checklist becomes routine — and routine is what builds authority.
